GPR Concrete Scanning in Bristol
We cover Bristol and the M4 corridor from London, and we have been asked to price work at Filton this year. Bristol sits on the route to our South Wales jobs, so a Bristol survey fits into a week we are already out west.
Google ReviewsWhat we do in Bristol. We scan slabs, walls and columns before anyone drills, cores or cuts: rebar layout, likely post-tension tendon positions, embedded services, voids and slab thickness, marked on the concrete before we leave. Where your engineer needs cover depth or bar spacing, we add a Ferroscan survey and log every reading.
Bristol buildings. City-centre and Temple Quarter office and residential blocks often sit on post-tensioned floors, where a core in the wrong place cuts a live tendon. Filton and the north fringe have large industrial and aerospace floor slabs, where the questions are thickness, reinforcement and what is buried in the slab before new plant goes in. Harbourside conversions bring older reinforced frames with unreliable drawings.
What you get. Marks on the concrete at every position before we leave, and a report with each scan area, what was found, depth-indicative positions and the instrument used, signed by the surveyor who did the scan. A DXF comes with it where your engineer or installer needs to set out from it.
How we cover Bristol. We are based in Canary Wharf. A surveyor travels the day before for an early start, and travel is itemised on the quote. The promises are the same as in London: a call back the same working day, marks on the slab before we leave, and the report within 5 working days.

Bristol questions, answered.
- Can you scan a post-tensioned floor before we core it?
- Yes. We locate the likely tendon positions with GPR, mark the safe zones on the slab and supply a drawing before anyone cores.
- Can you scan large industrial slabs?
- Yes. On large slabs we use a Proceq GP8100, which covers ground quickly and keeps the data for the report.
- How is travel to Bristol charged?
- Travel and accommodation are separate lines on the quote, so you can see exactly what they add to the survey.
