Scanning the joints of a warehouse slab that moves
A&H Construction and Developments were investigating slab joints that move under vehicle traffic on a warehouse floor in Droitwich. Corvus scanned across the joints with GPR to show what was in the concrete either side.
Rebar mapped and marked on a Brighton roof slab
MH Construction needed the reinforcement in a roof slab on Buckingham Road, Brighton, mapped and marked before steelwork was fixed to it. Corvus scanned each position with Ferroscan and GPR and marked the bars on the concrete.
Clearing a core through a post-tensioned slab in Pimlico
Keyshel Interiors needed a 127 mm core through a post-tensioned slab on Belgrave Road, Pimlico. Corvus scanned the slab to clear the position, then came back and drilled the core.
Seventeen high-rise blocks scanned for a fire engineer
Poplar HARCA needed to know how the concrete in its high-rise blocks was reinforced. Corvus scanned seventeen blocks in East London with GPR and Ferroscan, without breaking out in occupied buildings.
Mapping a machine-room slab for new lift motors
A City of London office was replacing its lift motors with new, smaller units. Before the engineer assessed the machine-room slab for them, Corvus mapped its reinforcement with GPR and Ferroscan and rendered it in 3D over the slab.
Scanning a lift pit before a hydraulic ram went in
A new hydraulic lift at a St Neots waterfront bar seats its ram in the pit, so the pit base takes the load. Corvus scanned the pit slab and walls with GPR to locate the reinforcement before installation, so the engineer had data on the base instead of drilling into it blind.
Scanning a suspended slab so a data centre could build up
Custodian Data Centres needed to add a mezzanine over a suspended, pile-supported slab. Corvus mapped the reinforcement with large-format GPR and Ferroscan so the structural engineer could design it, without drilling blind.
