PAS 128 Utility Surveys in London
We are based in Canary Wharf, so a London utility survey starts from our own doorstep. London ground is crowded: a century of cables, gas, water, telecoms and abandoned services, often poorly recorded. A PAS 128 survey tells you what was found and how confident the drawing is, before the bucket goes in.
Google ReviewsWhat we do. We carry out PAS 128:2022 utility surveys: a Type D records search, then Type B detection with a Radiodetection RD8200 locator and a Proceq GS8000 ground-coupled radar, positioned by GNSS RTK. Our utility surveyors hold the ProQual Level 3 Certificate in Utility Mapping and Surveying and deliver surveys to PAS 128:2022. You get marks on the ground and a drawing with a quality level on every line.
Working in London
We cover all 32 boroughs and the City. Work in the highway needs the right permits and traffic management, and some streets restrict when work can happen, so we plan the visit around that and tell you what it adds. Where the street needs it, we work at night. Book a Type B at least a week ahead so the statutory records are in before we arrive.
Typical London jobs

London questions, answered.
- Can you survey a live London street?
- Yes. We plan around permits, traffic management and any restrictions on working hours, and we can work at night where the street needs it. Tell us the street and the dig date and we advise on what the survey adds to the programme.
- How far ahead should I book a Type B in London?
- At least a week, so the statutory records are in before we arrive on site. A single frontage is usually one day on site, with the drawing within 5 working days.
